The Church: Always Free

Entry to the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is completely free. No ticket, no reservation, no booking app. You walk in during opening hours and explore at your own pace. The church contains extraordinary Gothic-Renaissance architecture, decorated side chapels, and Gaudenzio Ferrari frescoes — all without paying a cent.

The main church building — including the Gothic nave, the Renaissance apse and dome by Donato Bramante, the 14 side chapels, and the Cloister of the Frogs behind the complex — is entirely free to visit.

One important caveat: the church has a separate entrance from the Last Supper Museum. You cannot access the refectory — where Leonardo’s mural lives — through the church.

Free Entry: When You Don’t Pay at All

Entry to the Last Supper Museum is free on the first Sunday of every month (‘Free Sunday’). Free tickets are released on the preceding Wednesday at 12:00 pm Rome time and disappear within minutes. Children under 18 always enter free. EU/EEA youth (18–24) pay only the €2 booking fee. The church itself is always free.

Free Sunday: On the first Sunday of every month, all visitors can enter free. You still need to book a slot online. Free-Sunday tickets are released on the Wednesday before, at noon Rome time, and are gone within minutes. Have your details ready and refresh at exactly 12:00 pm.
